TERRAZZO
"Terrazzo alla Veneziana”, from the Venetian “terrasso”, meaning soil, the original paving material: site waste material crushed and mixed with slaked lime, later to be replaced with marble chips.
The traditional blend of the “Terrazzo” floor was made up
of the various colours, forms and sizes of the marble chips inserted into the basic floor mixture. The final result could therefore be more or less colourful depending on the colours of the marble chips and/or glass tiles used.
